Conference on Cryptographic Hardware and Embedded Systems 2019

Atlanta, USA, August 25–28, 2019

Student Travel Support

Please note that applications to CHES 2019 travel grants have been closed. We have already allocated the funds, and no new application will be considered. Hope to see you in the conference.

With the generous support from IACR Cryptography Research Fund for Students and the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), CHES 2019 is offering three travel benefits for students. Please use the guidelines below to request support.

  1. If you are presenting a paper at CHES 2019, you can receive a waiver code for complimentary conference registration as well as travel support. Please send an email to ches2019@iacr.org with the subject line as "CHES 2019 Student Speaker" from your university email account. In the email, please indicate your paper title, the TCHES 2019 issue it appears in, the list of authors, and verify that you are the presenter for that paper. If you wish to receive travel support, please provide a travel budget with justification and clarification on what additional sources of funding are available.
  2. If you are a full-time student enrolled at a U.S. university, you can apply for support from NSF to attend the conference and offset the costs of registration, travel, and lodging. Please send an email to ches2019@iacr.org with the subject line as "CHES 2019 NSF Travel Grant" from your university email account. In the email, include the following information:
    1. A resume or CV (in PDF format);
    2. A cover letter by the student which describes (a) if applicable, the title of the paper accepted at CHES 2019, (b) an explanation on why attending CHES would be difficult without the award, (c) a travel budget with justification and clarification on what additional sources of funding are available;
    3. A signed support letter from the student advisor that includes (a) confirmation that the application is a full-time student in good academic standing, (b) benefits of attending CHES 2019 for the students' research, (c) availability of funds from other sources.
  3. If you are a full-time student enrolled at another (non-U.S.) university, you can apply for support from IACR to attend the conference and offset the costs of registration, travel, and lodging.  Please send an email to ches2019@iacr.org with the subject line as "CHES 2019 Student Stipend" from your university email account. Carbon-copy (CC) your advisor in your email. If you wish to receive travel support, please provide a travel budget with justification and clarification on what additional sources of funding are available.

For full consideration, please submit your application by Wednesday, July 17, 2019. We expect to announce the acceptance by email by Monday, July 22, 2019.

Send your questions to the CHES 2019 General Chairs at ches2019@iacr.org.
