Due to a high demand of hotels in Leuven, most hotels are getting fully booked in the city. Some hotels still have rooms, but not for all nights during CHES; it may help to puzzle and book one night here and one night there.
If you cannot find anything in Leuven, we recommend booking a hotel in Brussels near the Central station or the Nord station. We recommend taking the train to the station of Leuven, the trip takes about 20 min. See the travel information below.
Information on the different locations and further practival information can be found in the CHES Booklet.
Participants are advised to book their accommodation EARLY as there are other conferences in Leuven at that time: there is a sufficient number of hotel rooms in all price categories, but hotels tend to have high occupancy rates.
Block bookings have been made at some hotels to ensure room availability. Please check the expiration date of the block bookings below. We cannot guarantee that you will be able to find a hotel room after this date. The prices listed here are indicative: you may well be able to get a better rate by searching on the Internet.
Leuven is a small circular (and mostly flat) town with a radius of about 1 km (or 0.6 miles). All locations are within walking distance. The location of the hotels is also indicated on this map of Leuven.
The following hotels offer block booking. Please check the expiration date of the block booking for each hotel since the dates vary.
Information on how to get to Leuven can be found here.
We note that from Brussel Airport Zaventem (BRU — not to be confused with Brussels Charleroi) there is convenient train access between the airport and the city of Leuven itself. Most places in Leuven can be accessed from a walking distance from the train station, however buses and taxis are available at the station. We recommend buying train tickets via the SNCB app or on the website of SNBC.
Important remark: As the English and French translation of the city name is Louvain, you should be careful not to confuse Leuven with Louvain-La-Neuve where the university UCL is situated.
Information on your visa for Belgium can be found here.
International registrants should be particularly aware and careful about visa requirements and should plan travel well in advance. Please send your request for a letter in support of a visa application to ches2022@iacr.org. Use the subject line "CHES 2022 Visa" and include your name and mailing address. Also make sure to indicate which embassy/consulate you are applying to. Authors of accepted papers/posters/etc. should also include the title.
Parking Ladeuze is a near-by underground car park.
